Shannon Atlas provides creative public relations services for Bay Area arts organizations.

With more than 15 years of public relations experience in the fields of the performing arts, technology and book publishing, Ms. Atlas is a talented writer with extensive media contacts in the Bay Area. Ms. Atlas began her PR career in the New York book publishing industry, working with well-known authors including New York Times journalist Gabrielle Glaser and National Public Radio correspondent Jacki Lyden. Since 1998, Ms. Atlas has lived in the Bay Area, working in the technology industry for a local PR agency and later as communications manager for Responys.com (Nasdaq: MKTG), an email marketing company. Since 2002, Ms. Atlas has worked with performing arts and other nonprofit arts organizations.

Recent placements for her clients include: Live interview with NBC-11, features and reviews in the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, 7x7 magazine, San Francisco magazine, Dwell magazine, California Home & Design, KQED-Radio’s “Forum,” ABC-7 News, and San Francisco Arts Monthly.

Ms. Atlas earned her B.A. in English and American Studies from Tufts University in Medford, MA. She currently lives in San Francisco with her husband and two daughters.
